The RecMic II Series
EXPERIENCE A NEW DIMENSION OF SPEECH-to-TEXT. The RecMic II Series is created to cater to the high demands of professionals who want excellent usability and results with any speech-to-text solution. The four models of this new series are providing the benefits of the innovative noise cancellation technology with the intelligent Two-Microphone-System for flexible directionality and noise cancellation. All devices also come with an extra smooth UV-coating and silent buttons to reduce disturbing touch noises. The antimicrobial surface meets hygienic requirements, especially in medical areas.
RM-4100S
This slide switch model provides 3 additional customizable function buttons that can be used to assign shortcuts for frequently used commands. A mechanical slide-switch is designed for users who do classic dictations and want to have maximum control of the recorder/player software.
Intelligent Two-Microphone System
Quiet Environment
Looking for accurate recording quality in any environments? Anywhere and at anytime. You want to feel free to choose your location and enjoy the fresh air coming out of the open window. But then there is always the risk of unexpected noises.
Noisy Environment
The RecMic II quasi puts an end to the risk of unexpected noises. The impact on the recording quality by background noises will be significantly reduced.
Beam Forming
Thanks to the innovative intelligent two-microphone system of the RecMic II Series, background noises are actively ignored by the microphone so that an accurate speech recognition is realised.
Directionality OFF
Having a strong directionality on the microphones is one of the key aspects to achieve accurate speech recognition results. When the Directionality is turned OFF, the noises from the surroundings are recorded.
Directionality ON
Thanks to the two omni-directional microphones the RecMic II is able to focus on the speaker like a human being. The surrounding sounds are largely “tuned out”.
The advanced noise cancellation feature identifies voice and keeps it as it is. At the same time non- or low-relative sound is suppressed without distorting the voice. Anytime. Anywhere.
The noise cancellation and directionality settings can be configured via the RCT (RecMic Configuration Tool) Software or via button combinations without any software (see Quick User Guide).
References // Customer Quotes
Torsten Hein and Carsten Schulthes, Managing Directors of DAZ Diktiertechnik, Germany: "The record quality and the speech recognition of the test device are excellent, thanks to the highly sensitive microphones as well as the effective suppression of ambient noises. A new feature is the possibility to individually map the keyboard, resulting in a new dimension of software compatibility. Computers that recognize keyboards will also recognize the Olympus RecMic II. This is a smart approach by Olympus to save IT resources and to gain new users."
Romain Koenig, Head of the Technical Team at DICMA, France: “The tests we conducted in noisy environments show excellent speech recognition performance. The noise tolerance can be adjusted in seconds, just by pressing two buttons on the microphone which allows to uncomplicatedly switching from a quiet to a noisy environment. Using HID mode on the new RecMic allows our technical team to set up our client solutions without any additional drivers. No driver means that it works with any common operating system, and the system is less likely to crash."
Jürg Sprecher, Systems Engineer at Voicepoint AG, Switzerland: “The technology provides reduction of unwanted background noises and accurate results for transcription and speech recognition. The included software RecMic Configuration Tool (RCT) is looking modern and enables ease-of-use.“
The RecMic II Series // Key Features
Trackball with smart Cursor Motion
FASTER CURSOR NAVIGATION & MOUSE CONTROL – The integrated track-ball allows controlling your mouse cursor while dictating. The smart trackball accelerates the moving speed when needed and can be clicked to trigger the left mouse click.
Closed Loudspeaker Chassis
Thanks to this CLEVER CONSTRUCTION, the speaker generates enough volume with good sound quality even from the smaller opening of the body. This also helps to keep the speaker unit away from dust.
Triple-Layer Sound Studio Pop-Filter
ACCURATE RESULTS WITH SPEECH RECOGNITION – The microphone housing now includes a triple layered pop-filter. The construction blocks the wind noise of the mouth when talking into the microphones and ensures that as little as possible pop-noises are recorded. Thus, accurate results with speech recognition are achieved. If your typist is doing your transcriptions, she/he will love the pleasant recording quality as well.
Antimicrobial Surface
EFFECTIVE AGAINST MICROBES – The antimicrobial materials in the surface of the devices effectively protect against microbes. The Polygiene technology behind that is based on the natural ability of silver ions to inhibit the growth of microorganism.
Microphone Stand with automatic Stand Detection
SMART MICROPHONE STAND – The dedicated microphone stand allows you a hands-free dictation, while operating with other instruments. The RecMic II automatically switches to wide directional, so you do not have to care about microphone settings when switching between hands-free and classic dictation.
HID Keyboard Mode
FULL COMPATIBILITY – The user can select between three different modes, which are operating in a standard HID-Keyboard mode. Two are pre-defined button settings either for Dragon or Windows Speech Recognition and the third is fully customizable via the Olympus RecMic Configuration Tool (RCT). Organisations that make use of virtual environments also benefit from the HID keyboard mode, because no special drivers need to be installed.
The RecMic II Series // Operating Modes
All the four models in the new RecMic II Series offer you a plug & play experience. No more worries about additional software modules to be installed. No more doubts about compatibility with common speech recognition software. The plug & play experience with common running systems is coming true. Just select one of the following modes most suitable to your needs and environments. You can download the pdfs with all the settings.
Dragon Speech Recognition Mode
PLUG & PLAY – Just connect the RecMic II with your Dragon Software, there is no need to install any additional software. Once connected, the device is recognizing immediately the Dragon Mode and all buttons are already pre-configured for your usage.
Windows Speech Recognition Mode
PLUG & PLAY – Just connect the RecMic II with your Windows PC, there is no need to install any additional software. Once connected and your Windows version includes the Windows Speech Recognition Engine, you can use it with a pre-defined button setting.
Fully customizable Keyboard Shortcuts
The RecMic II can be switched into 4 different button modes. First, the Standard Olympus Mode allows controlling any software application with sophisticated button events like macros, keyboard shortcuts, text input and dragon commands, if the RCT is running in the background. The other three button modes are operating in a standard HID keyboard mode.
